My point is that I find 2 things humorous and I am making fun of both of them.

The first is that I did not incorrectly categorize the vehicle in any manner - I didn't refer to it as an SUV or claim it has a V8, or something else. I know what it is and isn't, a sports coupe from the Z family. I fully admitted that I thought it was called the 400Z and didn't try to argue.

Second being a few response have invoked fake news and random numbers about what they want to call it - even though you could not form a logical argument for calling it any of those things. Why would be it 381Z or 370Z 2.0? My naming was not that arbitrary as 400 is both larger than 370 and matches the HP figure and continues the naming structure that has been used for decades.

To me, mislabeling it as 400Z was entirely harmless. In the same way someone calling my FRS a BRZ is entirely harmless. But when I call a Civic a Ferarri, or say that a Eclipse Cross is a sports car, do call me out.

I like that they stuck with a pearl red instead of going with a solid red. Solid red looks good on some cars but I think the pearl looks classier on a Z-car.

It is interesting to look at products in development or that are already on the market and ask the question of how the engineers will overcome the looming issue of stricter emission standards and a market shifting quickly towards EVs, especially the sports car market - the Cayman and Boxer, Camaro, and Challenger will be EVs in the next few years... The Miata and Mustang are likely to be hybrids with EV options.

It is all made worse because the new Z can't be sold in Europe, and the GR86 is getting kicked out of the EU in a few years.

I guess tl;dr can a Z making 400hp at $40K compete with a theoretical Camaro EV making 400hp at $40K? Can a Nismo Z making 500hp at $60K compete with a Camaro SS EV making 500hp at $60K? I'm going to say no, especially given how easy it is to make power with EVs. A $60K Camaro could probably make 800hp+ from a 4WD system at a $60K price and destroy M3s, RS4s, Supras, and anything else in the segment.
