$215. You're looking at the $/hr of port install time, not MSRP.

Perhaps, but the '15+ WRX had an STI-branded short-throw shifter option that made a relatively? big difference. (I had a base model '17 WRX with this option)

I ordered it the day that it was announced back in August, they kept my order until the order forms opened up and submitted mine before anyone else.

Any way we can modify orders at this point without losing place in line?

If it's an accessory that is available, I don't see why you couldn't do it even last minute. But idk, contact your dealer.

FWIW installing a short throw shifter yourself is a really easy mod if you are comfortable doing work on your own car.

I am not a talented mechanic but I was able to install short throw shifters into my FRS and my Cayman S without any problems.

It was a bit of a P.I.T.A. to install a short shifter on my '17 BRZ, but definitely not rocket science.
Needs a lot of patience though.
The most difficult part was aligning everything at the joint between the shifter and the transmission rod, and putting the rubber boot on.

I also broke off one of the plastic clips on the handbrake boot.

What I am afraid of. I am thoroughly incompetent at this kind of stuff and will wind up breaking something.
I rarely mod my cars and would prefer factory installed options.

Totally valid point of view, and the boot was tricky. I'd bet the dealer will be glad to add it to your build.

Or invite a more competent friend to help you for a sixpack of beer, and learn something along the way.
