That would make a great multilayer diorama by the way. One crushed with a cutaway view in the ice, and maybe one sitting on top of the ice or flying over...

That's what I'm saying though. Can they just use their commie market control powers like this forever and ever or is it going to come crashing down like a house of cards? It's the biggest bubble ever and it's just there waiting to get popped...

Also there were a bunch of planes that landed at the same place they took off.
Yup, successful ditching. That's not easy to do, there is a basic technique but it only takes accidentally putting the gear down or a wing tip in the water for a good cartwheel. And it's something you only talk about really, even if you have seaplane time that's not quite the same.

He could've skidded in and ditched way before that beach full of people. I think he played it out as long as he could and that last climb was an avoidance maneuver.

If your engine isn't working, you don't really have a lot of say on your airspeed. You can't get any back once you bleed it off, and speed is what you need to maintain control. Aircraft like that don't hydroplane, so you have to stall it into the water. I think he overestimated his speed when he aligned with the beach. The folks swimming are just lucky.

So there's an S2000 at my new apartment complex, mostly sits in the same spot. It has a dent in the driver side corner of the rear bumper and it's pretty dusty/clearly pretty neglected.

I'm tempted to try and find the owner and make some kind of relatively cheap offer (pending a PPI by a shop).

Anybody have experience with this?

Heard a clunk coming from the front passenger's side tire well at low speed. Think I found it.

It usually goes about half as well as I think it will when I attempt it.

This one is totally stock (-looking at least). So I'm kind of making an assumption it's owned by someone who's not as into cars and maybe has it just as a "fun convertible".

But dunno if that'd be sufficient even if the owner does fit that assumption lol.

It never hurts to ask.

A lot of guys buy a car with all these grand intents that are above their ability and paycheck and just end up driving them into the ground. They are not willing to sell because they have this "plan." I have been trying to buy the same two cars for years, one of them for more then a decade. Both owners have "plans" for them and won't get rid of them even though both cars have not run for well over 10 years.

Nose up so belly hits water first and drop off as much speed as possible. Bad bad things happen if you hit the water nose first and too fast.
