New toy

I've been thinking about this for a couple of years. So I found the right one and pulled the trigger.

I enjoy the FRS, but gentlemen, this is the ultimate driver's car!

How does it drive in comparison to the 86?

I've heard that Tada San used the Cayman as the aiming point for balance when designing the twins. Had one parked in the design space.

New machine is 2011, 6spd, 42K miles. Seller had complete maintenance history, and all Porsche scheduled maintenance items were done on time at a Porsche dealership.

Will be selling the FRS. If a buyer comes forward quickly, I would sell private party, but it will more likely be heading to CarMax.

Well, engine placement really impacts 2 variables. Certainly balance is important, but no matter how "perfect" the balance is, it can't totally overcome the effects of polar inertia.

I have owned 2 really well balanced cars, the FRS, and a Miata. But I have owned a several mid-engine cars, 2 914s, 2 MR2s. Having the engine between the axles offers unmatched neutral cornering.

I bought this car in Va, but I drove my FRS back home to NC. While keeping my speed mid 80s down I95 (only in NC) I couldn't help but think what a really competant car the FRS is. (NC is a pretty lenient state with regard to speed enforcement )

Nice rig indeed.... a very well-balanced machine!

However............

You'll never get a set of 4 wheels w/tires into the boot like with the FR-S!

Enjoy!

Congrats, I've owned 3 Porsches, still have my 77 911s targa I bought in the mid 1980s. Awesome cars. Joint the local Porsche club. Usually great people.

I used to get my track rims/tires, jack, and tools in my 1977 911s targa back in the day. Even a lawn chair. For the 1992 Porsche parade in San Diego, I even had a weeks worth of clothes.
