Hmm, I thought I mentioned somewhere that a relay could fix this, as when we bench tested everything the lights worked fine (because it was a high power 12v output). But when installed in the car we noticed an issue.

A solid state relay like this one on amazon should make it work without the "click" sound.

Because of that the Valenti break light doesn't flash like Version 2 should. I tested the soldering by connecting the Valenti's to straight to battery and they worked like intended but when connected to break line it wouldn't flash and instead give out a dim light. To fix this I set up a relay and ran the power directly from the battery (I connected to the factory amp wire since it has a 12V always on in one of the wires). And it worked. My only issue is that the relay i have makes a clicking noise everytime i hit the breakes. So now I will need to look into getting a relay that is quite

Valenti 4th Brake Light - Funny Behavior?

I am wondering if anyone else has run into this?
I just bought and installed my Valenti 4th brake light (supposed to be the "standard" install). (I ordered it from SubiSpeed.com, and it showed up looking like it was brand new and never used.)

Where I was expecting this behavior:

1. Running Lights or Headlights ON = "V" lights up.
2. Step on Brakes = "V" lights up + Triangle flashes 3 times and stays on.
3. Reverse = White Reverse LED's light up.
==========================================
Instead I get this behavior:

1. Running Lights or Headlights ON = NO "V" lights up ever.

2a. Step on Brakes = "V" lights up + Triangle lights up at the same time when I hold the brake pedal down. (BUT only when I have the Fog Lights switched OFF).

2b. Step on Brakes = "V" lights up + Triangle flashes 3 times and stays on while I hold the brake pedal down. (BUT only when I have the Fog Lights switched ON).

3. Reverse = White Reverse LED's light up. (Works fine).
===========================================
I've checked all the wiring, and they are connected to the right ones.
Can anyone explain why I have NO "V" lighting up at all with running lights or headlights on?

I am ok with 2a. and 2b. above, but I have no idea why it does that.

I tried all light switch positions on the stalk (OFF/Auto/Running/Headlights).
(Fog Light switched ON/OFF). Engine off and running.
All variations in the mode of operation resulted in the same behavior above.

Any help explaining this would be greatly appreciated!
(The car is almost bone stock except for a strut tower brace, Perrin intake tube, K&N air filter, and Raceseng shift knob, none of which should impact electrical/lighting.)

Did Valenti make some design changes to how the 4th brake light works?
Or am I missing something?

It came with the 3 wires on the connector and the separate red wire.
I pulled the middle blue wire out of the connector and hooked it up to the green wire on the harness (running/headlight), and the red wire went to the red wire on the harness (brake light).

Did you ever fix this?
