Double Cat Front Pipe? Emissions?

Had a friend with a FRS recently fail an emissions check (cat-less header and open exhaust). I was wondering if you took two OEM front pipes, cut them and welded on both secondary cats if that would be enough to clean up the exhaust? Thoughts? Or does someone make a super restrictive cat-converter?

It sounded like the last, the device that reads whats coming out of the tail pipe.

Lol, this. I would just get a high flow cat welded in. I don't see why one wouldn't be enough.

Yeah if your area has a sniffer your best bet is to put stock stuff back on. I've never lived in an area that requires that.

You double cat idea "could" work but its still a shot in the dark.

One cat should get you past the sniffer. They don't have it where I am, yet.

Just curious because the front pipe is only 4 bolts so it could be a simple swap on/swap off job once every year or how often they test. The intent is to pass the test
