The thought did cross my mind...
I was more worried about it taking a turn too fast.

Reminded me of back-in-the-day just leaving the OSU campus in Columbus rush hour traffic, in a busy intersection when my old 1948 Chevy just wouldn't move ..... yep, it just set there.

My future first wife stuck her head out the door and looked back and said that "the rear wheel is coming off the car". I got out and looked, sure enough, the wheel was sticking out about a foot ......

The rear axle had crystalized and the end was making its way off the car.

I'll spare ya'll the details of laying in the mud and snow of a junk yard, getting one off an old car .....

i was in an open lane, lady at the end of traffic in the lane next to me tried to merge into my lane and didn't check her mirrors or something, i have a dashcam video i can upload later

horrible pictures, doesn't really show the damage well, passenger rear quarter panel is dented in, wheel damaged, rear bumper has a nick and a scrape





hope they can refinish the wheel, i don't know how long it would take to get another PP wheel in

edit: here's the video, i probably should've slammed on the brakes but instead thought i could slip by, but by the time i reacted she would've hit me either way - she wasn't moving as i was pulling up, and started moving as it was too late

Too bad.

It looks to me that the wheel will "buff out" and the body will fix up just fine.

What an inconvenience!
