I use to write for some of these sites. Both of you are right to a certain extent. Sometimes it really is just total garbage that a C rated site made up just to get some coverage and attention. Or it could be that someone is bored and speculating. Sometimes we are feed false info to throw everyone off of their real plans. However, other times it really is legit info from an inside. Its easy for you guys to say where is the source or where are they getting the facts from? What you guys have to realize is these people can't be named. Its there jobs and careers that are on the line.

I like how some say they are crap cars yet never driven or owned one..lol

Not likely but also entirely possible that the end date for Scion was set before they ever even announced it existed. The companies look out far further than it may seem to many. There are no knee jerk reactions or sudden changes possible in the industry.
Why would release the new iM and iA as Scions if they were just to make them Toyotas 6 months later?

I think it already is. I would imagine at least most people on this forum (which is in no way necessarily representative of the entire owner base) have already switched to toyota badges from scion, making the scion badges less prominent.

On the bright side, now everyone won't have to worry about a Scion FT-1/Supra lol.

Business plans. Plain and simple. They did not wake up yesterday morning, last month or even last year and say "Hmmmm let's get rid of Scion". Parts contracts alone would cost them many millions to break or change. These things have to go through so many committees and levels it would make your head spin.
I get why people think they can change things on a whim because that is what appears to happen at the consumer level. If exposed to the reality of the big automotive companies you quickly learn that nothing is done on a month to month or even year to year basis but plans actually span many years and even decades.

Scion launched in Canada in late 2010 for the 2011 model year. Still, what's an extra year or two, lol.

Two dealerships around here just went through major remodels with fancy Scion sections lol. I guess they really kept this hush hush instead of saving money on remodels.

I'm curious what will happen with parts. Like if someone wrecks a Scion and needs a badge replacement if they will use up stock of Scion badges to re-badge it if its one of the models that was brought to Toyota.

I'm sure there's going to be a lot of pissed off dealerships now if they recently did renos to accommodate the Scion brand
