Hey OP, if you do install the KillerB pickup and you don't want to worry about RTV killing your engine check out "Permatex 51813 Anaerobic Gasket Maker", it'll stay liquid and not clog your oil passages. I've used it so seal up a motorcycle case and valve cover, great stuff. I can't understand why anyone would use regular RTV for this application.

Awesome thanks for the tip! Haven't done it yet currently scheduled for 30th at the shop. When you say it'll stay liquid isn't that bad also for possible oil leaks? or you're saying before it cures its very liquid

It only cures due to a lack of oxygen, for example between the two mating surfaces where you want it. It cures solid just like RTV except whatever squeezes out into your oil pan won't, it'll just cycle through with your oil until your next change. Whereas if you used RTV the excess would cure inside your oil pan and block your pickup or worse.

Dropped the pan today. TDLR: "3.6 Roentgen, not great not terrible"

It looks like a previous owner dropped the pan before me and resealed it and looking at the oil pickup pictures, maybe ~15%? of the screen was blocked by some small sealant. Oil pan looks really clean though. KillerB installed.

I also always prime my oil pump for 5 secs before starting in the morning and stay <5K rpm, I'd like to think that may have offset any damage. I don't care about my $50 starter

Do your Job KillerB!

Simple hold down the throttle during ignition. Also comes in handy if you’re ever at risk of hydrolock

Do you know what these tubes are for in the oil pan? are these gallery drains from the heads or somewhere else?

Late to the party, but I just got a fresh pan from Toyota (mine rusted through), those have a rubber gasket that you can buy as a separate part, or come with the pan if you buy a new one.
