Question Question - Coilovers St XTA vs Tein flex A CSG

Hello, I have an issue to decide which coilovers to get i tried to ask some people that i know but 2 of them told me that Tein is shit and they will never use them and 2 others told me that St is shit.
No one that i know have the ST XTA coilovers on the brz and the only guy who have the Tein Flex A CSG have force induction so i cant really tell how i will fill on my car.
Im using the car for daily so i need pretty soft coilvers and going to track days like once in 3 months but the car drive like 80-100 km daily.
Need your opinion

ST are made by KW. So whoever said that doesn't know what they are talking about. They have soft springs for doing regular track days, periodically they may be okay. They also don't have camber plates.

The Flex A's come with camber plates and have hydraulic bottom out bumpers. They are pretty good for the price.

Here is the CSG Flex A owners thread full of happy customers.

Question - Coilovers St XTA vs Tein flex A CSG

They definitely do have camber plates:

https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...60&postcount=4

For more mass market cars (BMWs for example) they come in 3 flavors:

ST X: height adjustable
ST XA: height and rebound adjustable
ST XTA: height and rebound adjustable with camber plates

So ST has 3 levels of coilovers, but only one of them is available for the 86, probably not enough volume. The XTA for this platform comes with spring rates between the KW V3 and Clubsport, 6kg/mm front and 5kg/mm rear. Very similar to the CSG spec Teins.

I think I have been corrected on that before now that I see a picture of them.

The ST XTA has been reviewed already but there not many people who have bought them and reviewed here.

Most of the time they are ST X owners. Somewhere I have read that unto some years the ST X and XTAs were not having the same type of struts and then KW switched to "wet filled".

The ST XTA seem to be a good buy though.

You have bought them already?

So I take it that you will give us a nice long review ?

Thanks.

I have ST XTA for about 3 yrs now. I do a little track but mostly autoX.
I'm new to tracking/autoX since 2015, I'm almost retired, I run mid pack at autoX events & run almost dead last on track days. So, what do I know.
Unlike Niki Lauda, God did not give me a good ass.
I bought them cuz they were on sale, I know, this has to be the top reason to buy anything, right? Then 2nd reason to buy, the looks of a lower car, 2 swings, 2 misses...
Oh! There are these little adjustable nobs on top to ... do something? I have not
adjusted them much. All I can say is on softest setting they are a little harder then
OEM. I really have nothing to compare them with but OEM & I have no issues, I like them. BTW other people I know who have the same car & are much faster then me have them & like them.
Looks like we use our cars in a similar way, so I hope this helps you. After all, these
are KW's, these are not shit.
