bring it to a body shop and have them worry about it.

I finished painting and installing a Tommy Kaira rear wing ( wet carbon frp ) on my 2015 FR-S all by myself.
I matched the Drill hole templates that came with the wing to the wing posts and discovered that they did not align perfectly so I made my own custom templates out of heavy duty aluminum foil. I used magnets to hold the templates in place so I could dimple the trunk lid with an awl before drilling holes. I did not use the gasket tape that came with the kit, because it looked cheap. Instead i ordered some 1/8 inch thick silicone tape from Amazon. Everything worked out perfectly. I have one bit of advice... Take your sweet time and measure 3 times before drilling the holes in your trunk lid.

I recently got a replica of the Nur Spec wing and it didn't come with a template. I tried to make one, but that wasn't much help. It took damn near 5 hours for me to align and do all the drilling. As well, the hardware that came with it was subpar so I had to go out and get proper fitting screws as each hole was differently depths! Talk about PITA.

Your Tommy Kaira looks great though!

Thanks Weederr33... It was time consuming but I was afraid to let anyone else install such an expensive rear wing on my baby's behind...Much less allow them to drill my baby's rear end...

I felt the same way! The shops kept giving me wonky quotes so I decided to do it myself. So if I messed up, at least it was my own fault. Either way, turned out pretty good if I must say so.

Radical Rear Wing Dude... I like it !
Whenever the police spot a rear wing on a car, they tend to follow us as if they expect is to speed while they're watching... I've been thinking about getting a radar detector... Do they really work?

They work depending on how much you spend. I don't get followed much, so I don't worry about getting one.

Looks really good! Proof that a big wing doesn't have to look like you backed into a construction project and drove away with random parts stuck to the car.

Tcoat: you simply don't know anymore what's cool these days. Imagine driving this car at drift race in reverse gear .. then you hit kangaroo, and drive home not only with race trophy cup, but also with kangaroo body roped to that rear trunk extra shelf. Meat tastes like victory!
And it's practical too. You can use wheel dishes for grill, such wing will let you park in France w/o damaging paint on bumper (yours).

LOL. Although firmly in the "do what you wish with your car" camp those BFWs that look like I built them as a kid look just plan goofy on these cars. take a with great lines and then slap totally conflicting parts on it.
