Trying to make it with my car, just got an exhaust leak yesterday. Getting with a shop to see if they can do a v-band clamp on the mid pipe.

Not going to be able to make the pre-meet. I've been sick since Tuesday, just now getting back to normal. Will be there tomorrow morning with a very dirty car unfortunately...

What a interesting and memorable 86 Day 2016. Sorry, I missed out on the fun at the Bent Rim with all the crew!

We (Group 4) caught up with Group 3 in Leakey right around all the construction on the main drag before the turn on to 336. We drove slow at first to create a gap and also had some slow traffic in front of us so ended up pulling over for a bit. Once underway, 336 was fun!! Had our break at 336 and 41....

We headed towards 335 and expected to see Group 2 on 41 but, nothing...
Found out why...motorcycle incident on 335 and @Zubit and Group 2 stopped to render aid. Good job!!! Much thanks from the injured motorcyclist, Brad!!

Saw this pic posted on FB...thanks for sharing!!

Brad lost it on that stretch somehow and went off-roading...sideways...on rocks. Ouch! He was and still is in much pain I am sure. When Group 4 arrived Brad was borrowing somebody's phone from Group 2 calling GEICO to dispatch a wrecker to pick up bike to take to the Harley dealer in Boerne. His cell phone screen was inoperable from the impact and resulting crash and burn / rock slide. Brad was obviously in a lot of pain and discomfort and really needed EMTs to look at him...for sure EMS would have transported him to an ER in the big city.

Where we were, transport by POV made more sense and heading towards Camp Wood I was sure they'd have some EMTs there as @Zubit said they were having what turned out to be their Settler's Day Celebration in town. Brad rode with Juan in his Scion tC as I felt it had a softer suspension and wasn't as low to the ground as an 86. Thanks Juan! We loaded Brad's gear and took off not really observing whether his brother Jeff was following as he was suppose to do.

Upon arriving in Camp Wood the EMS vehicle was clearly visible and EMTs were all gathered nearby. Brad got looked at right away but they told him the law would have to be notified of the accident. I sent the Group 4 onward to the Bent Rim and then looked out for brother Jeff to roll in on his bike. No brother Jeff. After Brad was treated, taped, slung, multiple patched and ibuprofened he was then observed for a bit before local law got involved and that took up some time...they indicated a unit from Edward's County was gonna be dispatched to the scene of the accident in order for him to file a police report which was going to be needed for insurance anyway. Cell phones were not working in Camp Wood so couldn't contact anyone there.

Brad was concerned about the absence of his brother as was I. He also didn't want to inconvenience me. I told him I was gonna be his adopted brother for the day in his real brother's absence and we'd get everything done that needed to be done and I'd drive him to a hospital or all the way to his home if need be. I gassed up the BRZ in case we had to do an extended road trip from there and we figured Jeff probably went to the Bent Rim in Leakey but, since the bike was still on the roadside and police were being dispatched to the scene we headed back that way. No police, no brother when we arrived on scene. Also, no note was on bike.

Sheriff deputy was coming from Rock Springs so we headed to 41 rather than sitting there on the side of the road and came upon some bikers under a shade tree taking a break. Used one of their phones to call Rock Springs law and they were about 2 miles from our position so headed back towards bike.

Cop shows up in short order and police report was made. The officer let Brad use his cell phone to call his wife to fess up and then get chewed out in order to get his brother's phone number from her. That was interesting to observe! (Speaking from experience, he handled it quite well...but, it ain't over yet, I'm sure.) Hey, he figured God kept him alive from the crash so how much worse could it get, right? Bro. Jeff did not answer his phone when we called him.

I then called @TEWwild using officer's phone and found out everybody had just left the Bent Rim except for one late comer. Tim got us the Bent Rim ph# so we could call there and page for his brother but, to no avail.

About that time a pick-up truck with a car carrier flat bed trailer shows up. He was dispatched from Del Rio! Cop leaves and we go over to the bike where driver has backed up the trailer and set up some ramps. Dude forgot to bring the controller for the electric wench. Bike is stuck in gear due to bent shift lever and will not roll unless clutch depressed. Brad cannot do anything due to pain so driver and I got the bike positioned and we got it about half way up ramp and Brad would hit the handle bar brake. One final heft and we had it done. Hoorah.

Loaded up Brad in the BRZ and we were gonna head for Leakey and here comes Jeff on his bike! Rolls up to the side of the car and says in reference to the Twisted Sisters, "Yeah I done all three of them bitches today and their cousins, too, looking for y'all but, finally figured you wuz back over here!"

We then all went to the Bent Rim, had some burgers and then got to the Apple Store for ice cream right before they closed. Ultimately, got Brad and his brother to their hotel in Boerne. It was an adventure Saturday and got to know Brad pretty good in our conversations. Looks like we share some common interests, experiences and even have had some mutual acquaintances. We're gonna keep in touch. He's not done with doing the sisters he says. I sent him an email today and suggested he get an 86 for his next trip out there!

Thanks for everyone's concerns and I appreciate all the pics and vids posted up. Hey, I got to drive 335 3 times on Saturday and even got a free lunch and dessert! Group 4 ... thanks for doing the "solo run" on the last leg!

FYI. Spoke with @TEWwild Sunday and we will likely have another sisters run when the weather cools down a bit. Will definitely be looking forward to it!

Also, special thanks to @Shneegle for organizing this years event along with all the other helpers, vendors, team drivers, Cole for the t-shirts, Jeremy at Scorpion for Friday's BBQ, etc. It was fun!!!!

Laters...
