Nope. They only approach clients in person in dark alleys and cost of first born son also might be not within budget of most

Correct fitment works. The Subaru TSB is very specific, tightening order and torque. Making sure the gasket is flat and that the washers are all correct. Thicker gaskets help mask poor fitment.

Bingo. It does work with all lights. Correct fitment, installation, and torque is key to longevity. Doesn't matter if it's aftermarket or stock, it's equally as important.

Thing is, the factory installs your stock lights, which is why you see less issues with condensation in them. Your average person is installing aftermarket lights, which is why you see more issues. Not the light's fault, there's just a higher level of control in installation at the factory.

People are quick to blame to product when they see an issue like condensation in the lens. That's human nature to find something to blame. When you dig a little deeper, you often find signs of human error contributing to the problem. Nobody likes to admit they made a mistake.

4.5 Nm is the spec so about 3.5lb.ft (actually 3.3)

Also the gaskets are meant to be single use only - I now recommend if anyone removes or replaces the lights to get new gaskets (or make your own like I have done)

I ordered them to be on the safe side. What material would you recommend to make your own?

Same material as stock, neoprene rubber, ~1/4” or ~5mm thick will do.

^ This. I have made templates for OEM and VLAND (probably the same as most aftermarket) so should there be the need, I can just have a set made up in 10 mins. Just need a sharp knife.

Well they came with new gaskets so yay lol.

I wonder if the people suffering leaks are buying used sets and not replacing the gaskets...

Let's talk about Tom's tails. All reds vs clear lens black housing. What's the difference, besides the colors obviously. Which ones are the ones to get? The all reds are the jdm spec or something like that? Not the v2 hurricane reps, dont like those as much

If I remember it correctly when I was doing my research on these 2, both the clear & the all-red have USDM DOT-approved specs for having sidemarkers. There's a clear one being sold as well that's JDM spec wherein there's no side marker hence it is not DOT-approved. The all-red has red LED's for both brake & turn while the clear has red for brake & amber for turn.

I ended up getting the all-red because the clear one has an infamous issue of having a visible internal minute component warping when exposed to direct sunlight in the summer. The all red doesn't have this problem because of the tint

Tom's taillights, the V1's... the best ones, there is a USDM and JDM version of both the Clear and Red lens.

Red USDM / Red JDM
Clear USDM / Clear JDM

The internal difference is the JDM does NOT have a small sidemarker bulb behind the reflector on the outer sides. And Japan requires that all turn signals be amber, because theyre smart. So the JDM Toms have Amber LEDs for turn signals.

Side note: If you find a pair of JDM taillights, you will need to switch two of the wires in the plug. Not hard at all.
