street cred. if one doesn't drive a manual, but owns a manual, that makes them an enthusiast!

Exactly. This car will be in their collection because "they get it".

"Gets it" as in gets that some rich people actually want to buy the ultimate driving machine, not the ultimate numbers machine.

They want purity of the experience and total control. Just like the original F1.

I’m curious the percentage of buyers who will track their car or even take it into the canyons. Most owners might do a few highway pulls and Sunday drives, but I doubt these cars will ever see 25k miles. It’ll be another car that sits in the collection, as a static museum piece like a IRL/VR car poster.

Is that the car maker's fault?

With that logic nobody should bother making a performance car that costs more than $500k.

Not their fault. Some of them have gone to great lengths with buyers to prevent people from storing or flipping supercars. Why stop at $500k though? People were storing and flipping 911Rs until Porsche decided to sell the GT3 Touring, which of course pissed off those 911R investors With that said, companies like Ferrari seem to be catering to collectors that much more by producing new models all the time. They have learned that selling at volume means selling to collectors, which means they need to churn out new models all the time. It might cost investors more, but this is just pocket change for their buyers and keeps the value, exclusivity and cost appreciation higher. Didn’t they release five new models in 2019 and plan to release 15 more in the next five years?

Some hypercar manufacturers make a car with the goal of being the fastest or having the top speed record or being the most beautiful, and that is also funny, but it sounds funny that Murry is putting a six speed in a hypercar, so he can cater to the hypercar driving purists, as if that exists.

This is engineering masturbation.

You definitely have points. I consider myself pretty "in the know" with the auto industry. Then one day I went to Ferrari's website and they had cars listed in their line up that I've never heard of. LOL

I think one of the most interesting features is the clutch actuated power assist for the steering. That's a unique solution.

Track-only GMA T.50S revealed

"The T.50S is set to be 100kg lighter than the already super-svelte T.50, just 890kg on GMA's numbers, and will also have a more potent Cosworth V12, this able to make up to 730hp thanks to internal changes and a ram-air intake. But those numbers are merely impressive; the next is stunning: the car's combination of active and passive aerodynamics mean it will be able to generate up to 1,500kg of downforce."

Love Harry's Garage. Anybody else follow the rebuild of the Espada recently? Or his drive in the Lancia Fulvia? (technically an FF boxer)
