Lightbulb LT1 Swap

Crazy as it sounds I have a c4 corvette LT1 engine just sitting in my garage collecting dust. I gave it some thought and I’m curious is there anyone that has done an LT1 swap to frs/brz? I mean I got the engine I just need the adapters, engine bracket/swap kit and esc. I’ve tried doing some research and I can’t find and adapters for the LT1 engine to frs trans. Just curious if anyone has any knowledge on this.

You need a t56 transmission. Or other GM transmission. The frs/BRZ transmission is weak, and would need to be moved back towards the firewall.

I had an LT1 in my 93 Vette. It was a real step up HP wise from the motor in my 85,, like 100HP more. Ran strong. As mentioned above,, T56 out of a 90's Camaro would be the way to go for a transmission. Also,, if you cant find a kit and someone who's done it, it can be a long road doing it all yourself.

Iron block? Distributor?

I would sell the LT1 and buy an LS1/tranny/wirring/ecu from a Camaro. The price difference is probably negligible compared to the cost of the build.

If you're talking new LT motor that would be pretty sweet.

Yes. DBW, CANBUS controlled AC, etc. Its just the LS2 is an oddball that is designed around the e40 ecu (doesnt have good canbus integration support), it can be modified (24/58 reluctor wheel) to use an e38, which is a more popular.

You can still use which ever LS variant, just swap reluctor wheels and throttle body to a 58x, supporting components and get the rotating assembly balanced. It'll cost a few hundred dollars instead of spending a couple grand more on an LS3 if its not needed.
