The intake sound tube

Maybe it's just me, but is anybody else planning on immediately blocking off the tube that pipes engine noise into the passenger compartment? I love the sounds of a nice engine, but to artificially pipe it in seems, well, cheesy. I noticed in several of the BRZ reviews that the authors reported it as being quite noisy in the higher RPM range, which seems to me to be unnecessarily intrusive. Maybe it's just that I'm getting old.

I kinda like the idea of the tube, it works well to be low profile outside and still have the sound inside. I am sure there are others like you tho. Once people start modding we can all tune the sound to our own likes. There will be a ton of exaust options for this car.

i'll wait to hear it for myself then decide. in the event i go m/t and get a down pipe i'd take it out. if i go a/t and take out the resonator- it all depends on how bearable the noise is to live w/.

wtf there's a tube to pipe noise in the engine bay?

My Celica doesn't need that... you can hear her at 8,000 RPMs easily.

Here was a previous thread.

It does serve a purpose but I'm certain aftermarket intakes will ditch the extra piping.
