I gotta see in person to decide, but if I can handle to front look, might buy it as 2nd car.

Agree, Venza front styling is more conservative, balanced and will age better than overstated Tucson. They even managed to tone down the recent gaping basking shark mouth a bit. Now it's more like a bulldog.

So much for solid, dependable engines of proven design. Everything is genius until it fails. Makes evs look better and better

Smart but not infallible engineers, as the Apollo 1 program showed.

And NASA not needing to turn a profit is what I meant. Hyundai, like other for-profit corporations, needs to move development along to deliver to an ultra competitive market before fickle buyers move on to the next new thing. Given their target market, I doubt that many CUV shoppers will care about the new valve actuation mechanism. The PHEV will draw more attention provided the battery is big enough to get the Fed/State tax credits.

I think those are just running lights. Wouldn't surprise me if the actual headlights were in the lower set like the Kona.

No, those are actual headlights. I know Kona & Santa Fe have DRL in headlight area, if I heard the presenter correctly, those weird grill w lights are headlights.
