The speculation will never end.

I think it's a PRHT, but it could also be something like a targa. Blow the lid off, indeed. There are reports on miata.net of focus group meetings where people saw something that looked less like the NC's folding hard top and more like a targa.

Of course, it could also be an RX-7. Maybe RX-VISION is another step closer to reality. We'll find out soon.

EDIT: Notice that, in order to read the message, you had to unfold the origami...

I'm watching the live stream, and it's pretty slick in operation. I would love to have one.

Still, it's more of a flying buttress roof line (MR2, etc.) than actual fastback. The 86 remains the real deal fast back coupe that I want more. The sculpted double hump roof of our cars is way cooler from a sports car design perspective.

I see it more as a powered Targa

it's still really cool, but I'm expecting $30-$35k

powered roofs are expensive

The lines are sexy as hell. I wonder what the weight gain over the standard vert is? It is much more practical than a soft top in the PNW for the 1/3 of the year that has sun.

Meh. Only interested in an actual coupe (or targa at least).

Nifty, looks slick, a good evolution of the PRHT from the NC. Hopefully it looks as good in person.

People will bitch about everything, wonder what the weight gain is and if they managed to snag any rigidity out of adding it so it's not entirely dead weight. Also how it affects roll bar status at track days and such will be important.

Judging by this pic which doesn't even include a helmet, doubtful it will have any effect.
