OEM ball joint vs Roll adjusts kit

I need to replace the front ball joints on my 2013 FRS. The car is lowered 1" and sees street and HPDE track duty. NA power, 200tw tires, Tein Flex A coilovers.

Is the Whiteline kit a good upgrade? Or should I stick with OEM?

My understanding (possibly outdated) is that you can't buy the OEM ball joints separately from the arms anymore, so that may make your decision a bit easier.

With that being said, I plan on getting new OEM arms when my ball joints finally go.

I'd settle for this if the Whiteline kit isn't a significant upgrade.

Correct, for what I know you can only buy the entire Oem arm or go for aftermarket, hardrace makes oem lenght joints but at this point I’d go for the corrected roll center version.

I'd get the whiteline parts. I don't know if they'll be more durable, but the car should handle better. FWIW I ran them for probably 10 years on my STI and never had a problem with them.

They don't fit 22+ BRZ tho.

EDIT: One other consideration, is that I think they have to be pressed into the arms, which you may not be able to do at home. New control arms with new ball joints is just 2 bolts and a ball joint popper.

Thanks. I've ordered them and should get them later this week. Getting Whiteline end links too. Getting them in isn't that big of a deal. Local part stores loan out the tool.

Now, I'll have those pretty little yellow boots.

I got everything installed, had an alignment done, and in the process I learned a couple of things.

The right and left tie rods for our cars are different and, if installed reversed, will rub at full turn lock . There was nothing in Whiteline's instructions or in any of the You Tube videos I watched that seemed to highlight this little tidbit of information. I guess everyone assumes the bozo installing the parts knows what they are doing. My alignment guy fixed it. I went conservative on my front camber as I hope the Whiteline's kit will maintain more (-) camber with hard cornering.

I installed Whiteline rear LCA's. These are nice but if you want your (-) camber less than 2* you need aftermarket toe arms. The inside of my track tires were showing a lot of wear with -2.23*(left) and -2.90*(right) with 0" toe. I was hoping for 1* but, with the stock toe arms, my guy got them just under 2*
