Coil-overs \ Spring kit ?????

Coil-overs pro's and cons:
pro's: self adjustable ride height, toe and camber.
cons: you constantly need to adjust, as lock-nut comes loose and suddenly your left sits lower than your right (real pain in the ass) and every time you adjust you need to have wheel alignment done...........

Spring kit:
pro's: buy the height you want, and it stays that way
Cons: not adjustable (not really a con if you think about it)

Yes...Koni, Eibach H&R are all excellent springs .....Koenic/nforce (dont think they make for 86) imo are no.

very much so, had eibach and TiEN at 45mm on my MR2, and there was quite a deference in the hardness of the ride,
I am told that the H&R @ 30mm are our best bet..... but some people are just all about brands no matter the ride

any non oe spring kit=not matched to oe dampers =potential shortened shock life

coilover=matched coil and damper=ideal setup

that said, both I and Jeff@perrin are rocking the h&r supersport coils which drop quite a bit but have some progression feel to them, they are so far so good on my ride, bunch of miles and track time too. Something I've been testing.

my theory is that with h&r you cut the oe bumpstops rather than replace them like with some other brands. this may be affording extra protection. I suspect the blown oe shocks are from bottom out/high rebound forces.

they drop a little more rear than they do front works great with the wl rear cross bushes. still, nothing like a matched set, ie, stock is great, or coilover if you want lower/stiffer

spring kit fine as a temp solution.

on any other car i would say that very true, but the 86 comes with a descent suspension, so if you not planning on getting airborne or hitting every pothole you find, they should last a lifetime on 30mm drop.....
