High Spec options prices

There was mention in another thread that the R30k extra for the high spec wasn't justifiable. I've had a look on the Toyota UK site as well as the local Audi site to get an idea of what it would cost to add all the extras. I couldn't find everything so some of them are conservative thumb sucks.

The leather seats and inserts are actually a 1600GBP option in the UK.

If you add that up it comes to R71890. So we're actually getting a LOT in SA for the extra R30k.

I personally like the DRL's as opposed to the std lights, always drive with them on (even thou is a manual switch on for SA)...the "leather" trim here and there in the interior also give it nice touch.

Yep, I'm just amazed that the leather is such an expensive option elsewhere.

Would have been nice if it could auto fold in ignition off like some cars do.

Must be honest, the folding mirrors were such a bonus! Never noticed when I first test drove the car. The high spec definitely is good value for money, if you're lucky enough to find one...

I also read somewhere - Australian site I think that they feared that the 17" tyres may affect the gorgeous handling balance the standard car has. While I also wanted a High spec I'm definitely not disappointed by my standard spec. The limited amount of kit reminds me of the RSI's of yore and even the original AE86 wasn't a luxury car.

Either way this is a car the purists will either love or hate based on kit or Subaru origins.

Also no headlight guards available as of yet (probably would look nasty anyway) - won't be pretty having to replace one of those HID headlamps...

Yeah, I can imagine! I love the folding mirrors.

Funny enough, some countries don't even come with the 16" wheels and I can confirm - the bigger wheels didn't mess with the handling at all, it gets sideways easily.

No need for headlight guards, the whole front of my car, all lights included are covered in VPS/3M film. I reckon if you don't want to do the rest, at the very least get the headlights covered. It prevents sandblasting as well.

I think there are more vids of the high spec going sideways than the standard! Yoko's grip well - better than I thought they would. All about the pressures!

Good call with the safety film!

Yep, I've always been a fan of Yokis. Which ones are they exactly?

I had VPS on my previous car as well - looked like new when I sold it, but you do need to take good care of it and never send the car through an auto wash or use a high pressure washer on it.
