If u were such a brainiac then you'd probably keep your trap shut since it's better for you if everybody else gets the vaccine whether you do or not. I mean if you are as selfish as you sound. I bet you havent had any otherwise healthy family member contract Covid19 and suffer grave consequences.

However, I am just still curious as to how prevalent this issue is in terms of statistics and whatnot. When I was a kid I took growth hormone shots on a daily basis because I was below the average size/height/weight curve for kids my age for about 10 years. There were possible side effects from it. Not everyone gets side effects at all. In some cases it's because of undiagnosed allergies that can cause a bad reaction from taking said medication (as is the case with many other modern medicines). But just because some people have very adverse side effects doesn't mean it will apply to everyone or the majority of those taking those medications.

I got some news today about the brother-in-law of a friend.
The brother-in-law (in his early 60's) has been a total COVID denier from the beginning. The whole package, refused to wear masks, denigrated people who did or even believed in the pandemic, etc. Then last spring he tested positive for COVID-19. Luckily for him, his acute course of illness was mild, no worse than a bad cold. It only further emboldened him. He spouted endlessly about how COVID was not as bad as the flu, it was just like a cold, piling it higher and deeper, etc. etc. He became even more strident in refusing to wear masks or socially distance. In addition to his believing that COVID was no worse than a cold, he also crowed about how he was now 'immune' and could do whatever he wanted (despite the fact that his actions could endanger the lives of countless people around him, including his 90 year old father). He refused to hear that he could become re-infected. He didn't care. This morning my friend told me that (to no one's surprise) his brother-in-law has become re-infected with SARS-CoV-2, and has been hospitalized with severe pneumonia. His prognosis is poor, and chance of survival not encouraging. So much for not being able to get re-infected. Those who irrationally deny the realities of SARS-CoV-2 and the pandemic will preferentially take themselves out of the gene pool. It will ultimately be a self-limiting problem. The issue is how many totally innocent people they might take with them. My friend and the entire family are now quarantining, sitting on pins and needles. |

^^And sadly this denier friend might not only be responsible for his own demise, but possibly many others as well.

I am truly saddened by the spread of all this potentially/statistically avoidable suffering.

Anybody in here ride a motorcycle? I figured I would start a new thread on how selfish and ignorant they are. I just lost a friend in a motorcycle accident last night(elderly driver in car tuned into his path....and that's a whole other subject on how the elderly are unsafe for everybody around them on the roads) so I thought I would make sure to let other riders know by putting their lives in such obvious danger, they deserve all the ridicule and talking down on they can get. Had he been thinking about his surviving son, fiancé, and the rest of his family/friends maybe he would have stayed off 2 wheels. I mean it's their choice(which is clearly wrong by any thinking person) but we all should let them know the majority of us really don't think they should be out there sharing the road with us and think about their family and friends who would have to deal with the loss of their lives when they inevitably die. It's all avoidable by just some common sense.
This concept really applies to a great majority of us on here in fact and goes beyond even the selfish motorcycle riders. We are after all trying to increase the speeds of our cars by any means including force inducing air into them when they weren't designed that way and we all know speed kills. How our government even allows us to bypass well thought out safety standards that take highly trained engineers years to figure out on how to balance the top speed/acceleration out these 1.5 ton chunks of metal for safety of the driver/passengers and everybody around that vehicle is beyond me. Totally sickens me to think how unsafe these cars become when people try to get every ounce of speed out of them until they become such a danger to others sharing the road with them. Psychos with the goal to make the most power possible until it almost blows up the engine and then back it off a little is just asinine. Government mandated autonomous vehicles can't come soon enough. |

We did everything asked by the experts. Stayed home, wore masks (still do), hell, we even spray our packages with bleach solution and have them in quarantine before opening. We carry hand sanitizer in each car and use it after even touching a gas pump. We still got it, and we live in the country just outside a town of 50k people. We are very afraid of getting it again. |
