For what it's worth, I remove my rearview mirror. Blocks my view during hillclimb. I learned how to drive in an 80s Chevy with no rearview, so I'm vigilant with my side mirrors. When I drive a car with a rearview mirror, it feels like it's more distraction than anything.

The light bar that extends across doesn't ever appear to be on, which I figured it would still somewhat illuminate through the wrap if it was on. Of course, they could have disabled it.

It could be like the Kia Singer, where it doesn't light up, but just extends across, or maybe like the Kia Forte, but they disconnected the lights:

I’m never a fan of light bars across the trunk, if they light up or not. Always reminds me of 90’s era Dodge products. Even Porsche is doing it now. Whyyyyyy?!!

I hate FI. Can't they get 240 hp out of a 2-liter NA engine? Okay, 225 hp?

I could live without the "humpy" fenders, but what I'd like is a better view from the cockpit. Maybe that's just me.

The fenders on the renders you don’t like? Lol
I think the visibility is awesome, once you get used to the small blind spot. For a car that looks as cool as it does, visibility is awesome. Sit in a new Camaro to experience horrible visibility.

Very good point, about Porsche using it on previous cars. I guess I just like when cars don’t have them. The 1st gen Eclipse had a mega rear light bar. It’s a visual oddity to me, especially if they don’t light up. I believe the new Porsche ones do light up?
And many times trends become cyclical, for good or bad. No better example than the return of Mom Jeans. Why of all fashion trends would that come back?!

2) FI to me always means more complications and more heat. The McLaren F1, the Honda S2000 and the t.50 are my benchmarks.*

3) With the GT86, I feel like I have the visibility of a tank driver peering through a slot.

Those engines didn't have high specific output. They got their torque from the displacement, and they didn't rev high, which is why the horsepower and torque are similar. That was from a time when vehicles were smaller, and there wasn't much technology or safety.

What you want doesn't exist if you want a new car under $30k. You will need a gen 2 86 with a FA24 D4S engine with 12.5:1 or greater compression, headers, exhaust, e85, intake, power blocks, whatever, and a tune. You will need to strip out about 300-400lbs of weight.

Your other option is to buy a ND Miata and fit an Edelbrock supercharger with E85. It will feel NA.
