Oh, yes @JFunk in addition to the manual, here is a "humfrz shifting supplement" for your readings:

I would suggest that when shifting, wind up the last gear pretty tight (4-5,000 rpms) before shifting into the next higher gear.

Also, when shifting, pull (or push) the shift lever slowly and firmly into the next gear.

It's not a toggle switch ..... the lever is moving heavy transmission parts.

I suggest you NOT "lazy leg" it ……. push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor.

Oh, yes ..... DON'T ride the clutch; when you're done shifting put your left foot back over on the dead pedal .....

The transmission will shift smoother, the warmer it is ...... that's just the way it is.

OP,
You said you already know how to drive a stick. Cool.

Thought I'd include a link to a post I did to help another new-to-manual driver become comfortable with the clutch shifting just in case it's helpful.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2662663

As @humfrz states, don't ride the clutch in normal driving. But in the semi-how-to above it's useful to learn when/where the clutch engages.

Have fun! Be safe!
(If you figure out how to do both together then let the rest of us know too!)

In keeping with the direction of this thread. Can you post a pic of your girlfriend washing your car? I don't really care if she's using dish soap or Magoo's Magic Cleaner.

I've driven manual before but in a very small town and never in a huge city like Miami. Can anybody offer any tips on driving the car, as every car is different or any tips on the caring of a Frs. I would really like to hear how the car feels after years of ownership.
Having owned my FR-S for almost 4 years now, I'm still enjoying it more than previous cars I've had. It's not perfect, but I love how communicative and responsive it feels. Getting difficult to find cars like that today. I'll probably keep it a long time (even if I pick up a GT350 or C7 GS on the side )

My only tips would be:

1) If you need power, downshift and keep the RPM's between 4500-redline.

2) Try driving the car at an HPDE/track event. The car is in its element at the track, and you will learn to be a better driver.

Congrats on the new car!

Use a credit card to pry, goo gone to clean, let dry, then push new ones on. Can use a blow dryer to heat up adhesive to help loosen if needed
