Lol, that pump sounds great for the first few weeks. I emailed my service adviser about the pump still chirping even with the insulation they did custom to mine. They are looking at next steps. We all know what the next step needs to be. Completely different fuel pump, different company.

Currently at 1200 miles... not a single chirp. -knock on wood-

Been filling up with 91 from Costco, and refilling at half tank (never goes past half). (Costco constantly has a different supplier for the cheapest fuel I guess)

Refilled like 8 - 10 times.

Build date on is June or July (can't remember) 2013.

Could it really be the amount of fuel left in the tank and the type of fuel used be causing the issue?

No doubt. Ethanol free gas keeps it quiet.

Put Shell V-Power in and see how it goes. Heard that has the least amount of ethanol.

Not true, "Up to 10% ethanol" means we don't know how much of this shit is in here, but its close enough. Shell V-Power has made mine chirp like hell just like any other gas station, even Chevron.

I also have the latest pump. Muted chirping came back after 2000 completely quiet miles. Now they're as loud as when I got my previous pump replaced.

I just filled up with a tank of the new Costco gas though so we'll see if it makes a difference. They apparently now have more "cleaning" agents for "today's high tech engines." Still has 10% ethanol since I'm in California but we'll see.

Costco gas does not prevent crickets. I've tried every 93 gas from all stations. Gave up.

Last night I got below a quarter tank and when the gas light came on I realized the crickets came back. As soon I filled her up they were gone again. I have 1000 miles on the newest pump
