Making the switch to Ethanol, Flex Fuel Video Inside....

Hey Guys,

I have been getting several questions regarding Flex Fuel Kits and how they work, as well as how easy (or not) the integration is tuning wise.

So today we ran the gas tank as low as we could on the shop BRZ, in preparation for our switch to E85 or 85% ethanol for the summer.

We proceeded to fill up with E100 or 100% Ethanol Race Fuel at our local gas station, to enhance the E25 mixture that was previously in the tank.

After mixing it with the remaining E25 mixture we had in the tank....she ended up at 85% ethanol content according to our gauge. (Note last 30 seconds of the video.)

I apologize for the lack of editing, but here is a 6 minute clip today showing how the Flex Fuel Sensor works. Notice for the first 48 sec of the video, the fuel line is full of the E25 mixture that was previously in the tank....and as it draws the newly pumped E100/E25 mixture from the tank...you'll see the ethanol content start to rise.

As the ethanol contest rises, the ECU trims the fueling (injectors) accordingly and adds boost/timing under load as commanded in the tune.

It's extremely seamless integration, and is perfect for those who want the convenience of being able to mix ethanol and gasoline as they please....with no need to remember what map/tune they are on.

Just fill up and go, the flex fuel tune does the rest.

Depending on the kit you buy, most can be installed in less than 45 minutes.

If your funds allow, and you'd like to run E85, flex fuel kits provide a fool proof safe solution. Contact your preferred vendor for more information.
