My Echo string trimmer wouldn't start this spring after 20 years of use.
The saran wrap diaphragms in the carb gave up finally. A genuine Echo replacement carb was $65 on the web. I got a cheap chinese knock off instead for $10. The trimmer is going again. Aintn't broke still.

About the size of a largish die (#1-6).
The whole carb for $10, 2 screws out with the old, in with the new. Didn't even have to use the ecutek or drive app. Though it's possible to get a couple more squidpower I suppose.

Called a local independent guy recommended by my independent AC guy (which is what I should have done first). Turns out it was the cut-off for our sprinkler system which was colocated with our water meter (I did not know that). Couple of hundred bucks later, all fixed. And, he worked in a downpour from Ida today to do it even though I told him it could wait. "Hey, if I let it wait I'll miss a job I could do tomorrow, and its not like I haven't worked in the rain before". The man got a nice tip from me and a good review online so his company would give him a bonus. They also have a customer for life (or at least until they piss me off).

Today have been K-Power day. Everywhere I look, it's all K-Power. It doesn't matter, in forum or social media. I'm somewhat interested to see how that works for ppl who buy the kit.
It's always good to see more aftermarket companies making more parts for the twins. |
