How many catalytic converters are on this car?

I live in Ca, smog restrictions! How can I get the most flow in the exhaust with a uel header without getting cel's and still pass smog? Thanks for your time.

You cannot pass smog with ANY aftermarket header.

There are two cats, one in the header and one in the front pipe. I'm not sure if you'd be able to pass CA emissions with either removed, but I don't know much about the requirements.

swapping back your stock header just for smog checks is probably your best bet. if you do some stupid stuff on the street and get pulled over, the cop could also want to check out your car and send you to the state ref. you would need to swap back to stock for that as well

Will the catless header throw cel's?

Yes. You'll need some type of tune to turn it off.

You just need a simple Off The Shelf (OTS) tune, your best bet is the Openflash tablet. You may go ecutek if you choose just depends how much you want to spend and what your future goals are. Or try your luck with a CEL (O2) sensor spacer and no tune up to you.

Afe has catted header, will cel's show then? I have the obd2 scanner tool to turn off cel's. Is that the same?

Running catless in California is a lot like having unprotected sex with strippers. Sure, you might escape the bad stuff for a while, but eventually you get syphilis...er, I mean ticketed

Even if you buy a catted header, it will still fail smog without a CARB sticker since you are in California. The only thing you can do for your exhaust legally is a cat-back and an OP (but even that is debatable because the law states modifications can be made only after the last cat however the OP does not replace any emissions equipment). Luckily it's not worth arguing because it won't do anything for you without a full exhaust.

This is still not strictly legal
But get an OFT

Run the E85 EL header tune on a completly stock car
No cel problems
Car is completly stock hardware wise
If you do get pulled for a complete inspection jist fill tank with petrol again and flash back stock tune takes 5 munites no tools ect

E85 tune on stock car worth about 20hp just e85 fuel and a tune.

Just get the header you want and switch it back to stock before smog. As far as CEL's you can get an O2 spacer which isn't a guaranteed fix or just go for a tune for a definite fix. A tune will not make you pass smog however
