If I had to guess I would say number two.

I marked the parts I don't like in red. The rest isn't bad. I think it would look best in black. I suspect the front end on the Toyota will look WAY better. Hopefully the Toyota doesn't have that ugly arched crease in the front fenders either. I know most people are bummed about the engine but it's better than 217 that was rumored. I suspect when driven it will feel like a bigger improvement than on paper.

Personally the best look would be the new trunk lid, rims and side skirts and all else 2016 FR-S.

Well in that case it will be balanced out by all the Mustang forums that will hate it. I highly doubt they care much what VWvortex cares .

I will go on record as saying that there is not a hope in hell of seeing a $27 to $28K Premium!

Hats off to Subaru for not doing silly things with the weight - it's really an accomplishment to not turn a next gen car into a bloated pig these days. Really nothing but the utmost respect for Subaru

Countdown to Valenti tailights and Tomei/Invidia fart cannons...

This was discussed previously (these BRZ wheels aren't shown for the first time), and although the wheels look similar, the GR Yaris are forged and have sharper lines, meaning they're definitely not the same.
The pictured wheels are 18" (based on the tire size of 225/40R18). Comparing the wheel diameter to the lug nuts, the PCD looks more like 5x100 (I measured around 95mm) than 5x114.3, but I'll admit my measurement is crude.

$29,950... probably. The Toyota version may actually be $28,950, depending on what is standard. Is the digital dash a Subaru thing, or will Toyota also get that? Same for the climate. Will Toyota go with the old rotary knobs like the base FR-S/ 86?

The reveal video mentions "optional tires," referring to the 18" MP4S tires. I'm wondering if the standard tires are 17" and you lose the leather seats, heating, and maybe some other niceties from the interior. The BRZ shown in the reveal video is probably 32~33K in manual. 35K for auto with Eyesight being standard.

I think I like the 1st gen's interior better. The new one is just a little too squarish for my taste.

Hopefully this one doesn't reflect on the windshield so much. That was my only real complaint about the interior on gen1.

If the speculation is that one Camo mule is BRZ and one is 86 there may be hope for that face yet.

Known BRZ

well that sucks.
They should just reveal it right now....with the Subaru..
its essentially the same car.

The only thing thats really left is how different the front fascia
From all the camo mules it looks like all you need to do is just take a GR Yaris lower fascia and just past it onto the front fascia of the 2022 BRZ.

is and how different the interior is (likely just black/silver coloring like the current one, and whatever the infotainment looks like)

With regards to the platform and motor..."all-new" and "bespoke" mean different things to different people. It's probably a mix of existing and SGP pieces which is fine and about what I was expecting. And a heavily modified FA24 specific to this car probably qualifies as "new."

My quick thoughts:

Horsepower, torque, and weight all seem good. Never believed the turbo rumors.

I'm thinking the 7000 rpm redline is a typo in the press release. Clearly 7500-ish in the images.

Very slight increase in wheelbase (.02 inches?) possibly due to more caster.

Not convinced on 5x114.3 just yet but it's certainly possible. The stock wheels aren't terrible at least.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 as factory tires is extremely good. No they're not track day all star tires but that is a very solid factory tire.

Interior and seats look pretty good. Porsche inspired for sure...I think they mostly pull it off. Love the instrument cluster.

For the exterior, well that's up to you. I personally think it looks...fine? Maybe a little too much going on, maybe too many "influences" (porsche, lexus, infiniti, buick regal), but I'd like to see it in person.

Still have lots of questions but overall I'm excited. I think the 2.4 is going to be awesome and there's plenty of potential. Can't wait to get underneath one and poke around to learn more about the suspension!

- Andrew
