I'm guilty of this as well. I recently scheduled an oil change and some other stuff since the car is at just under 36,000 miles. In addition to cracking in the review mirror and some unusual wear on the driver's seat bolsters (I'm not that fat... close, but not that), I figured I'd mention the TSB as a "why the hell not?" type of thing.

"I just finished your paper work, you got a cool $1413.58 of parts total installed on your car" my service writer just texted me that, so if you can get that much stuff for free, do it while you can!
Now comes the test of time regarding the chirp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I figure that I have, given my current milage, until mid-winter before I am hitting 60k. Hopefully we will have an answer by then.

At $1,000 a pop things could cost Toyota a million in a hurry and anybody that thinks "Oh they can afford it" have obviously never worked where shareholders are involved. The money will come out of our pockets in little bits every time we buy a new car. The replacements are not as "free" as they seem.

Oh don't get me wrong! If people want to get it replaced "just because" that is their call and not necessary a bad thing. Just wanted to point out it isn't free. Think about some of the guys we read about here where they had it changed 4 or 5 times thinking they would get different results.

I'd get it done if you plan to sell the car, would be a good selling point. I plan to wait for results from here to make my decision. Thanks to @pooch for being the test subject :P
