When do you think we'll get full details on pricing, options, and availability dates (basically, when can it be ordered)?
When will press cars be given to reviewers?
My guess is Toyota (and Nissan!) shows their car at the Tokyo Auto Salon, then the above stuff happens soon after.

TAS is going online this year, so vehicle debuts are being rescheduled for an alternate and individual time period so everyone can actually focus the press people on the new vehicle.

probably won't have any new solid info until about june-august this year.

I thought (incorrectly?) the fender “bumps” not only provide functional clearance for front spring setup over the wheels but also offer the driver a (not so subtle) cue as to where/how to best point/steer the vehicle.

The bumps are outboard of the upper strut mounts. My h.s. English teacher insisted that hood ornaments were necessary for knowing where the vehicle is on the road, I rolled my eyes....

Their only function is aesthetics. Initially they annoyed me because the fenders were already WAY higher than on the 1st concept. But I like them ok now, at least once the car has been dropped a bit.

The lovely front humps is one of my favorite looking features. Gotta have the front lumps to match the back lumps. The original frs is still the cleanest looking. Especially in the Whiteout color. I'm not biased, AT ALLL.

the old emblems were to line up your shot!




the humps are a useless aesthetic on a car. but i've got no problems with their inspiration

I wonder if getting 260hp/280nm at the crank will be achievable using 98octane fuel and good EL header with no cat (no e85).

That + shorter gearing should make it pretty fast, maybe around 2.0 Supra in 1/4mile.

I am gonna guess probably not. That is going to be a stretch but either way a modded NA with corn should be really nice.

Seems like the power of this new motor put down in factory stock form the kind of power a modified FA20 in NA trim hopes achieve. The big lump of torque in place of the dip and all. I cant wait to pretend to trade my car in and go for a rip in this one. lol



If its good, maybe I'll shop for a CPO the following year, pending major recalls and issues. Then regret it when the turbo sti come out. ha! right..

Hm... still I'd be happy gaining +20hp/+20nm on the crank up to 250hp/270nm, that should result in quite fat midrange Ofc depends what they will put in that exhaust, im in EU so probably an additional particle filter too... more to gain after getting rid of it maybe Shorter gears on top of it and maybe it can be a mid 13s car on 1/4


Wonder how the motor will hold the power and the drivetrain losses. Stocks 86's NEVER hold 200 on the crank around here, more like 180-190 range :/

Most of the rumors and hints in Subaru and Toyota press releases say that both cars won't be sold in Europe, most likely due to regulation (probably total emission goals for each manufacturer). There's nothing confirmed, but don't get your hopes up.

It is already confirmed that the "new" BRZ will NOT be sold in Europe. For the GR86 nothing is confirmed jet, but I expect the same.

From my point the "new" BRZ is not realy a new model. If you ask me, its a full facelift and a new engine option. I also expect that for example V8 swap kits for the 1st gen will work with the new Model without modifications. At least on the mechanical side.

What comes to mind under this context: From the numbers I know about the new BRZ will be 26kg heavier than the old one while providing 23 additional HP and no one realy complains about that fact. My V8 swap is adding 62kg while adding about 230HP (maybe even more). Talking about the swap, the weight concern is the very first thing I always hear about...

All infos I saw till now said 86 probably is comming to EU, BRZ not due to emission problem for the company as a whole and Subaru is slowly going out of EU for good. Also there is "under the table" info around here 86 is indeed comming.
Ofc I'll belive when I see official statement but... my hopes are up already
