Bunta's lessons have meanings.
Overcoming torque dip is like playing a video game and beating the super cheap final boss who kicks your ass all the time until you figured out its timing.

They did sort of. They actually filled it in with a buttload more torque due to the engine size increase, and they did tune it to be a little bit smaller so its not as noticeable.
It would be like the first game's torque dip final boss appearing again in a sequal game, but because players complained about it being too cheap and hard the first time around, the developers nerfed him so hes alot easier, while still having the same annoying tactics.
