Anyone else able to confirm my eyeball on tails and headlights looking the same size, shape and fitment as our current models? Seems to my eyes they will be swap-able.

They look like they will fitment OK to me but I would wait until confirmed before running out and ordering them.

Don't know if it's been posted everywhere else but Toyota Canada posted this on Facebook yesterday for the 8/6 day :

Today, we are celebrating 8-6 Day in honour of the new Toyota 86. With its ultra-low centre of gravity, boxer engine, and rear wheel drive configuration, the Toyota 86 is the quintessential fun-to-drive sports car. Coming to Canada in September, it’s sure to become a new Toyota classic.

Look like the new 86 they will be here in September !

Depending on where you are, there shouldn't be many left. I know in my Area it's starting to be hard to find left over 16s. For example in my area within about 100 miles there is 15 Manual cars left, some of which are release series. Mostly in Black or Red, all other colors has to be brought in from some where else. pretty sure we will see these 2017 for order soon.

Considering that the steering wheel is on the right, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Im sure they will be available soon but trying to buy one will probably be like sitting through a time share seminar. Local dealer has 4 '16s left and they gotta go!

They've been available for pre facelift cars in Japan, you just have to import them through sources such as japanparts.com and such.

I think the OP was postulating the seats as a factory option for the US market 86. In that sense, no, they won't be available.

I stumble across this article where they say a "performance package", similar to subaru, is coming.
Considering it's from an Australian website, i'd say there's a significant chance it's completly made-up.

Solid points guys... seeing those pics tickled my pickle a bit.
I will be getting in touch with my Toyota sales rep in the coming days. Will report back to you guys if I hear of any new developments!

I've been waiting for the new 86 far too long...

So I couldn't sleep and was on the internet and found this.

it's not the greatest video, but none the less thank you to the person who created it and uploaded it all credit goes to him.
Since none of our usual staff was able to attend the event to get good footage.(apologies that I was unable to)

2017 US Spec Toyota 86 @ 86 fest.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_asWpfhjCXk"]2017 Toyota 86 at #86Fest - YouTube[/ame]

this is probably the best view of what the US spec 2017 (Mono) 86 will be in my opinion. The only thing that I can't confirm is if the LCD screen item was added to the dash. * this is my personal educated speculation take with salt*

otherwise, we're basically getting the same car as the one shown in New York, it has the older GT seats from the old 86, but has the higher Alcantara trim pieces. No fog lights, and so far only automatic models are shown. This time however a red car is shown and no longer has prototype sticker stuck on it. I wonder if there is any other people with media of the car. The LCD screen item on the dash is my biggest interest.

Edit* confirmed No Screen in there.

anyways let's see what else we can find on this Im sure there's media of it somewhere and we'll get something soon via official items Im hoping.

curious to see how this will be priced. above or below a BRZ premium.
