Filled up the reservoir a week ago, so far its still at the Max line.... Checked the coolant level before filling up the bone dried reservoir, its full inside the radiator, asked my race shop mechanic, he said its normal due to evaporation of the reservoir....

I've owned or maintained at least 13 cars in my lifetime so far (all makes/models), and the only time any of them lost this amount of coolant was due to a leaky head gasket, leaking radiator/hose, or leaky overflow tank...

Ima guess its leaky reservoir (same as over flow tank?) coolant level in radiator is max when i checked with empty reservoir tank

How do you ck leaky head gasket? I hv inspect all radiator hoses and no leak detected

Is there leak detector additive for coolant?

And why anyone trying to use other than OEM. If you don't want to wait hours at the dealer like me, it's only $20 for a gallon. The overflow tank holds surprisingly little.

It is from the reservoir. If you look closely, it has a small hole near the hose. Plus the hose is not really sealed correctly to the reservoir. It evaporates there over time. At least that's what I think. I lose coolant over time also and have been looking for leaks but never found one.

Why the hole? I always thought it was supposed to be a closed system.

I have no idea. But look closely at the reservoir, it has a small hole near the cover. I know it supposed to be a closed system, but it's there. It sure seems to be a factor why we lose coolant.

I think the hole is there for air pressure equalization. When the coolant is drawn into the radiator as the engine cools down it prevents suction from forming in the coolant storage reservoir. You shouldn't lose fluid from this hole unless you are overfilling your reservoir.

If there is a hole in the tank how could you not lose coolant to evaporation if it is 50% water?

I'm sure you lose a little, especially if you are in an arid environment. However, the amount should be negligible. I'd be surprised if evaporation through that hole exceeded a gallon per year.

If you are losing fluid, you may have a slow leak somewhere. Just keep an eye on fluid levels and top off when necessary.

Yeah but you also have to take into consideration that the coolant is at higher temperatures while the car is running. The higher temperature the higher the rate of evaporation.

White smoke out of the exhaust is sometimes an indicator of a leaky headgasket...other times just losing a ton of coolant from the radiator and reservoir without a noticeable leak is another sign...

Since this seems to be fairly common, with no sign of leakage, no sign of contamination of oil or exhaust (based on my visual, smell and taste test) I think this is attributed to evaporation from the reservoir.
The time I noticed my reservoir was empty, my radiator was still full to the top.
I filled the reservoir to the full mark and have put about 300 miles on the car and lost about 3/8" from the full mark.
I then extracted all of the coolant from the reservoir and drove approximately 300 miles yesterday and checked the level from the radiator cap both shortly after garaging the car and then this morning.
Full to the brim.

FRS uses a lot of coolant?

I agreed with Tye300 and CircuitJerk, i noticed faster evaporation rate from the reservoir after i installed the Nameless header which the pipe runs next to it and accelerating the evaporation process, cuz the coolant level inside the radiator stays normal
