But that's on one axle (one gearbox? two in series?).
The one I'm lol'ing about is two completely independent gearboxes, one per axle. |

Mine was a '13, so it was N55 and should have had more refined programming. I even had reprogrammed a few times. It would be great for a few weeks, then turn to crap again.

Hill climbing is my favorite motorsport to watch. Pike's peak is always a good show. You see the craziest cars going all out with basically no mechanical restrictions or rules except get to the top as fast as you can in the fastest thing you can build.

There’s a guy I met who has a car like this, not even kidding. It’s a Mazda MX3 with two motors. One in front, one in the back. I think there’s a video out there on the inter webs of it.

They considered it in the early Roadster but dropped it because of issues.
The primary benefit for it, like the upper gears in modern transmissions, is for extending range and increasing top speed. Even so, I seriously doubt anyone will develop a manual transmission for an EV. More likely it will follow what the Taycan uses. Even if manual, is a two-speed gearbox really more "engaging"?

Although I suspect in a few more years, the top class is going to be all electric, which is kind of a bummer. But I do understand why. An electric engine and battery pack makes the same power at 14k ft as it does at 8k ft. |

5.6 to 60 on primacies is getting close to a 987S considering the BRZ is so traction limited. Definitely better than a base 987, but the base 987 also has a gear missing.
