I think why people where hoping for something less than 50mm is because they may be 2 to drive the car. Where one need a steering a lot closer to dash. Also I think increasing the distance to the control stalks by 50mm is too much, 25mm would be less problematic.

Perhaps, but then the steering wheel would be too far away for myself and many other tall drivers.

Just the same, we have no plans for a shorter spacer. Too many other projects and our current spacer covers the needs of most people that need one.

Mine arrived today as promised. I don't have time to install it today, but here are some pictures from the unboxing.

It's a very nice piece of hardware. It's basically two pieces, the spacer that slips onto the splines on your steering column, with an insert that mounts your steering wheel. This is the side that your wheel mounts on:

This is the end that slips onto the splines on your steering column:

Closer shot of the insert:

A 5mm hex key (not included) removes the six bolts holding the insert in place. You'll need to remove the insert to mount the spacer on the steering column.

Since the insert should have exactly the same splines and threads as the steering column, I just stuck it in the spacer so you can get an idea how it mounts:

As Emilio wrote earlier, there were no instructions. However, there was this warning page.

I found the warning kind of funny because there's a trap here if you don't pay attention to what you're doing. They put the "THIS SIDE UP" label on the insert, which can be installed in either direction. It's the spacer that has to be installed a certain direction, not the insert. If you're not paying attention to which side of the spacer is "UP," once you take the insert out to install it on the column you have nothing to show you which side is up. (Just remember it's the smaller hole.)

Thanks for the pictures... absolutely understand why it costs what it does from those pictures. Price is VERY justified.

The aforementioned adapter looks identical to the one I got from Girol, Italy

http://www.girol.it/en/motorsport-and-tuning/

Maybe a colab between 949 and Girol?

Installing the spacer in the coming days. To the ones who already installed it, did you need to lengthen the cruise control wiring/cables?

I'm combining the spacer with the Revolution/J.Luth steering wheel. Can't wait for the most perfect driving position/ergonomics

Thanks

@Boccaccio: would appreciate if you'll review later on. I too have J.Luth wheel and not too keen on putting stock wheel back, but rising total offset to 7cm makes me cautious a bit to just pull a trigger on purchase prior hearing similar setup experiences.
