The thing that bothers me the most ironically is that steering wheel, its just hideous and I am sort of shocked that would be the wheel they choose. Looks like its pulled from one of their other cars. The stock steering wheel on the 13-16 cars was PERFECT and was made without buttons to not distract from the driving purity and I not only wanted that but I respected that. I guess there will be a lot of TRD wheel sales soon.

if we look at the attached picture below, we can say that the whole "larger central air intake" and "improved air flow" inside the hood is not totally true. The extra area in the grill (circled in red) is clearly covered with plastic from behind, so there is no additional gain in surface area.
it can creat more downforce in the front though, and I think this is the main reason.

So basically you can buy the new headlights and tailights and make your FRS look better than the new model. The 5 HP claimed increase will have to be Dyno'ed, but I sure as hell wouldnt upgrade over that crap.

Today, I can't wait to see it in person. It's definitely growing onto me.

Definitely interested to see it in person but I'm not expecting it to be better in person.

There may be an opportunity for us 1st gen owners here. The "FR-S" name will be out of style for a few years, but since it is associated only with a limited model year run (2013-2016) inevitably some will begin to whisper that the "old version was better." We can work this into raising our blue book value and later, why, the FR-S will be downright collectible! :-)

Local joke that applies:

"How many Austinites does it take to change a light bulb"

Answer: Four. One to change it and three to stand around and talk about how much better the old light bulb was.

We're the old light bulb, FR-S owners!
