thanks!

this dealership was awesome.

let us take the car out without any questions. infact, the sales manager told the salesman to take a used one so that he doesn't have to come with us. but the salesman did anyway. he was a legit car guy though.

great experience.

I agree everyone should learn how to drive schtik too. I did for many, many years and before choosing an auto with the FRS I drove both. For me the auto in this car is one of the best if not the best I have owned (last car BMW dct). The educated have learned that Toyota did as much or more R&D on the auto for this car. It shows, the gearing is spot on for high speed cruising, it is more robust than the manual and SSP already makes upgrades for it as they do for dual clutch boxes. The informed will also know there is a shift towards more conventional auto's with newer programming and shift times equaling some better dual clutch designs. Not all fluid trannies are created equal..
I will always have a soft spot for manual's and my next project will likely be a manual (older Porsche). They both have great merit.....just don't start on the auto being lame and inferior. It's just not fact.... Peace out

I remember before I bought the car I saw a lot of manual FR-S/BR-Z owners complaining about quality issues yet I barely ever saw a Auto being replaced by warranty. It seems like I saw 7 manuals to 1 auto issues that resulted in replacements or modifications to making a manual work better. I prefer to not see Toyota service techs as much so I'm happy with my choice.

I'm not sure. All mike said was it's not enough for daily driving, when in fact most people drive these cars daily.

What I'm saying is, you may say the car "needs" more than 200 hp, but it doesn't. It's obviously able to move with 200 hp.

Would you guys prefer more? Yes, it seems. Heck, I'm shooting for 220-230 hp myself. But that doesn't mean you should present your opinions as fact.

I personally wouldn't have complained about getting more power from the factory, but it's very adequate for what Toyota and Subaru designed and engineered the car for. Do I give a fuck that I can't beat a minivan to the next stop light? Fuck no, because I don't try and race people on the streets. People are constantly trying to pull on me, and when they do I just maintain my speed, eventually catch up with them, smile and give them the thumbs up.

Not everyone is going to like this car. Not everyone is going to appreciate this car. For what it is, and the lineage it represents, I absolutely love it. I always have a shit eating grin whenever I'm driving it, and I can't think of any other sub 30k car that could do that for me.

If you're a dude, I'll buy you a drink if you're ever in Bako.

If you're a girl, I'll marry you if you're ever in Bako.

Even when we go to cars and coffee, all we hear is "such an underpowered car" and "hmph, 4 cylinders". It's hilarious.

I just enjoy it and drive the heck out of it. Is it funny when people try to race me in lifted trucks pushing 800 hp? Sure it is. They pass me, I make their day, and I get a chuckle out of it.

I'll take you up on that beer if I'm ever in that area of US and A.

Lots and lots of people talk about underpowered, but the cars that they have for their baseline seem to usually be 15,000 dollars more than the twin as well. That 15k would go FAR on a twin. Turbo/super charger, headers, header back exhaust, suspension, wheels and tires.
