sCION fr-s UPGRADED FACTORY ALARM (PROGRAMMED)

i paid for the upgraded scion alarm that is programmable into the key for my fr-s but my frustration lies with the horn honking up to 4 times when i lock the car. its really loud and annoying.

after reading the thru the alarm instructions i was able to "disable" the horn honking when i unlock/disarm the alarm system. But its annoying and loud when i lock/arm the system. Also i dont know if i can set the door locks to auto-lock after the car reaches 10 or 15 miles an hour like my altima did (only had keyless entry on altima)

did anyone get the upgraded passive alarm from the dealer when they picked up their fr-s?

I got it and mine honks twice. What really annoys me is that I have to unlock the car before i click on the button that opens up the trunk if not the alarm goes off. I actually think they installed it wrong because I didnt have to do that with my previous car. If its like that.....how annoying

Similar problem on BRZ stock alarm, used the key to open trunk and the alarm went off despite the RFID entry, someone fudged the computer.

you have to take it into the dealer and they will turn off the honks. its a option in the manual.

the one thing that annoys me and my dealer said they cant turn it off is the auto alarm set. after 15-30 seconds the car locks and sets the alarm itself... really annoying when im washing my car.

mine was part of the "package" deal. charged me a extra 2k for tint the ignition alarm and lowjack. funny part is when i came in to buy the car that was on the lot the "package" wasnt installed yet... half way through the process of the paperwork he says ohh BTW we have to do a due bill. i said i dont want it and he replied we wont sell you the car without it :/

really not so bad when i see the markups the dealers in florida were(are still?) doing.

I HATE THAT. I went to a dealer and they installed the 5AD kit that retails for $1600, and marked the car up $7000. I almost spit in the guys face.

i got the alarm upgrade. they installed the AutoMate AM1. it was pretty easy to turn off the honks. if you have the same alarm i can help you out.

Alarms chirping

I also have the upgraded security system. Why does the car chirp several minutes after the alarm is set? Also, does the red button next to the trunk release do anything?
