And the Genesis also starts at about the same. Not to mention, the dollar is getting weaker to the yen. So I say 24k for starters and up around 28k with options/luxuries.
the Miata is also a convertible. Convertibles are always more expensive.

1989 GT-S Original Retail Price (MSRP) $12,728 (92% of miata)
1990 Miata Original Retail Price (MSRP) $13,800

2012 Miata Base Retail Price (MSRP) $23,470
2012 FR-S Predicted MSRP (based on your Miata theory) $21,592

I'm rather surprised that a majority here think the price will be in the $20-$23k range. I spoke with a Scion rep (headquarters type) who said base price will be around $25,950. This sounds like a fair price and is significantly above the Tc price, which not in the same class, is an alternative. I'm betting the price is $25,950.

Only reason I say is we completely obliterate the tq dip when using the phantom electric supercharger even at the lowest boost configuration?

Basically pressurizing the manifold is causing the tq dip to disappear.

Thatruth has both a ECS and the nameless so we should see what the two can do together.
