Not at all. Aesthetics which is subjective at the cost of heatsoak whilst idling.

Yes it cools down but it takes longer to cool down than the stock intake as it is passing off the absorbed heat.
So in everyday driving and especially stop and go traffic -> knock.

I am just telling what happened to mine as evident from logging before and after. Believe what you will.
To me it is a big issue when an aesthetic part actually makes things worse, not everyone is the same which is why there is so much "upgrades" out there in the market.
