Installed the Beat-Sonic backup cam last weekend. Really happy with the product and support provided by the Beat-Sonic crew (Thanks Eric). Here's quick DIY for the install for the FRS.

*Getting the pics up first. Stay tuned for the narration & full DIY.*

Thx. It wasn't exactly plug and play since you have to tap 2 wires for the cam to activate when you switch gears to reverse. I should also add that additional copper wiring is needed to extend the wires provided by Beat-Sonic. Pretty cheap at any auto parts store and simple to extend with basic wire snippers. Once the wires have been run from the trunk to head unit, you should almost be home free.

I agree - it's a great product.
Thx! Still incomplete but I figured some pics are better than no pics
I'm still waiting for my TRD license plate frame to arrive so I haven't finished tucking all the wires from the trunk, and fishing it through the car's rubber tubing. Have you done that? Any tips on how to do it easily?

I just installed mine today. The easiest way I found to get the wires through the trunk grommets was to unplug the wiring connector and pull the grommet loose from both the trunk and the body. That way you can straighten it out and push a straightened coat hanger through. Tape the camera wire to the coat hanger, and pull it back through the grommet, and untape. Simple.

Yep it works with the BRZ headunit. It's listed in their compatibility list also: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ght=Beat+sonic

Ah good call. Better to wait til after u get the trunk issue resolved by the dealer first.

You'll need:

- 10mm socket, socket wrench, extension
- Very small flat head screw driver (the ones used to disassemble glasses)
- Extra stereo wires (up to 7.5ft)
- 1 x Ring Terminal for wire ground
- Electric Tape
- 1 x Male 14-16 Gauge Bullet Connector
- Panel Removal Tool (or anything that can pry open the headunit (something thin and non abrasive) I used a plastic wax comb for surfboards.)
