Pedders tophats should be usable with any coilovers that can be used with stock rubber topmounts.

Thanks! I am worried that OP's cheap coils may not work. He's wanting to fit 18x9.5 +45 wheels.

The front springs are only sort-of smaller diameter. What do you think?

From what he described, I think that these are what he got.

Well, i wouldn't want too wide wheels and tires in first place, and if buying coilovers, then something of higher budget/quality then (i guess) something (imho) from BC parts bin, so not exactly right person to ask. If model/manufacturer is known, then probably worth also reading product spec page and/or contacting/inquiring maker if they can work together and what diameter springs are used for them.

I agree on the coilover quality. I wanted KW3, but got FA500 and regret making the purchase. Anyway... I appreciate your input. Thank you!

Here is a pic of 17x9 +40 with -2.6 front camber. The 18x9.5 will be almost 2mm closer. So, after looking at this, I think the 18x9.5 +45 will work with the Megans and a bit less negative camber in the front.

Thanks @strat61caster for the pic.

I hope so too. lol. I got the rims first and was kinda short on funds and also need tires too. In search of cheap coilovers, i found megan brand new for 420 and was worth a shot. I might upgrade em to something else later but for now, rims and tires was budgeted and coilover was unexpected expense. My advan tc3 is still in box.. and I look at it everyday and hug them good night.

Should be able to get away with much more camber as the Megan's have a smaller diameter spring than the bilsteins and included camber plates will increase camber without decreasing strut to tire clearance.

Alright guys, just bought my first set of summer rims, went with Enkei T6S 17x8 +45 as I like the 6 spoke look but don't have the cash to spring for TE37s at the moment. Now its time for some rubber. Is there any real benefit with going 235 as opposed to 225? Might throw in a track day here and there but nothing crazy. Options are 225/35-45 or 235/40-45. Really dont want to have any rubbing issues.

I would suggest going with a 225/45/17 on 17x8 +45 wheels. They will fit without rubbing, look great, and are a common size. (cost less)

A 235/40/17 will fit on a 17x8, but they are very rare. And, with only one tire that is under $160 on tirerack.com, compared to 100 tires that are under $160 each for 225/45/17.

Awesome, I was leaning towards 225s anyways, will be stickier than the stock prius tires but not too wide to the point where I cant have any more fun. Thanks!

The 225/45/17 on an 8 fits nice. If you want -3'ish degrees camber on a non-coilover or simply a more flush looking tire, I'd recommend a +40et.

I am currently running the stock wheels with Eibach Sportline lowering springs (lowers car 1.4 inches apparently, I havent measured). I am looking at buying some wheels that are 18x8.5 +45mm offset. I am not sure what size tires are currently on them but I am being told that they are old so I should probably replace. Is there any way for me to run these wheels and get some tires so that I wont rub? I am really afraid or spending the money if the wheels/tires wont go with my springs. Was also looking to get 10mm spacers to flush the wheels out a little. I need help. I am a wheel virgin.

Yes, that wheel will fit with Eibach Sportline on stock struts. The tire size you can go with a 225/40/18, 235/40/18 and 245/35/18. I do not recommend running a 10mm spacer on stock length studs. If you need to use spacers get extended studs so you have proper thread engagement. Also, keep in mind with that offset you may not be able to run a lot of camber in the front depending on your tire size.

18x8.5 +45 wheels will fit with your springs. (no spacers needed to make them fit, they will be slightly sunk in though.)

Depending on the look you are going for and your budget, I would suggest these sizes for different reasons.

Pros & Cons
225/40/18 - Huge selection, lower price, slight stretch.
245/35/18 - Sits square on 8.5" wheel, wide tire look, OEM diameter, higher cost

A 10mm spacer will flush your wheels out some. You will need extended studs to install 10mm spacers. And I would suggest a set of camber bolts too.

Instead of a 10mm spacer, you could bolt on 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers. This would bring your wheels out to where, IMO, they are flush exactly like mine. I have -2 rear natural camber (from Prokit springs- sportlines should give you a little more) and -1.5 camber in the front from a set of camber bolts in this pic.

Bolt on spacers do not need extended studs, making htem much easier to install. The only thing you would need is to make sure your wheels have "pockets" for extended studs.

Wheel pockets...

Any issues running a 235/45/17 tire with a 17x8 +45 rim on stock suspension?
