I like the GR86 front bumper better but everything else I like better about the BRZ, especially since I was buying the base model:

Ride quality (so I've heard)
WR Blue
17" Subaru wheels are much better looking than the 17" Toyota wheels
Aluminum pedal covers
Warranty support if needed - It sounds like the first gens had issues due to Toyota techs not being familiar with Subaru engines. I prefer warranty work to go through the company that actually builds the car.

I share these sentiments exactly.

Unfortunately, however, I dont think Ill be making the jump after all.

The miata isnt generating as much stir as initially intended and neither did the audi. Audi would absolutely sell for asking when the flakes start flying but the miata.... its almost worthwhile to just keep building it at this point.

Urban legend. Toyota techs actually had more experience on the FA20 in the 86 than Subaru did, since the engine was unique to the BRZ/FRS and Toyota received the vast majority of the builds.

The issue was sloppy techs not following directions, similar to what is being seen now where the robot is applying too much RTV. It happened both at Subaru and Toyota in GEN1.
