There's a bolt and washer that goes on top to secure the pulley to the charger, but not sure if there's anything else on the charger side (spacer for example)... When I do secure the bolt and washer to the charger, the pulley doesn't spin since it's touching the charger base. Just want to make sure that makes sense before I re-install it today. I would call Vortech, but they are closed on the weekends...

If you are wondering why it was removed... I had the charger checked out and it needed one new bearing and shaft seal.... the re-builder removed the pulley in question... and hence, my question since the pulley is pre-installed by vortech when bought new.

Edit 12/7: There's a bearing that goes between the pulley and charger that I didnt realize was in the return box... everything is reinstalled. The pulley does spin as it should

For those with the V2 upgrade, during the install did you notice the tensioner requires to be turn all the way and the belts are still very hard to slip in? I had to slip a few grooves in and turn the crank manually so the rest would follow.

Not sure if anything is changed externally for the V2 but the tension on the belt and bearing is hell of alot greater than than stock or the V3 unit. I'm concern the bearings are taking alot of load. Previously, the V3 bearing failed this is why i'm paranoid.

If anyone or Vortech can chime in it is appreciated.

Also want to add, the V2 casing is hot to the touch once warmed up and or driven (since it uses oil from the engine), where as V3 is just warm. I assume this is normal, anyone with V2 please let me know, thanks.

Is there any superior place to purchase the vortech kit, better deals? anything like that for forum members.

4,600 just seems a little high when kits like KW and JRSC are so much cheaper, KW kit was going for 3600 for forum members. 1k less?

Any insight?

Talk to @PERRIN_Mladen at Perrin. He'll give you a good deal on the Vortech Kit. He's super easy to work with too. It's where I got my kit and everything went great.

Openflash's Vortech price is around $3800, not sure that there are any better deals out there than that.

The v2 is hella more stout than a v3
I beat the snot out of mine
13/14 psi
The v2 has no issue where the v3 would cook its 4oz of fluids

I concur, it can run hotter if you will, it does share engine oil, but I'm not sure about more load

Make sure you vent your v2 or foaming can kill it. Ask me how I know, just always warm up your car to prevent that initial start up foam!

I love my v2 just wish I wouldn't snap belts with the 2.87" pulley buy have found no solution, running the 3.33 I can run a belt and track it all summer long, and that's saying lots here in hell, aka phx

How can one tell if a Vortech kit is V2 or V3? The sites I looked at don't mention the version.

OpenFlash and Perrin don't specify but they both look like the V3 SC. I want whichever is best suited for hard track driving (stock pulley; reliability and durability are my top priorities).

Most vendors advertise the v3. The v2 is a special order item, as I understand it.

I found a few vendors that sell both and of course Vortech directly sells both.

I recently purchased OFT, primarily since I saw they supported Vortech as the basis for the OFT300 package, but after contacting sales, they say they only support the V3 kit.

@Shiv@Openflash - Any chance you would support the the V2 kit? Any reason to think they require different tuning?

I guess the vendors that sell both differentiate by calling one the Competition Level Tuner Kit. Part number 4TF218-124. The regular tuner kit is part number 4TF218-114L.
