16 inch steelies for winter, sizing

Hello,

Planning to get Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 205/55/16. The shop was asking me about the size for the steel wheels?

Anyone know the offset and width for 16 inch steelies that works for the above tire? (bolt pattern is 5x100 obviously haha)

Thank you

16x6.5 or 16x7.

I run a 16x7 alloy with a +49 offset, same tire. Clears and fits fine.

You can grab steelies off a base model forester. 16x6.5 48 offset.

TireRack steelies are 16x6.5 +50 and recomment 205/55

I have 16x7 +53 GC8 wheels with 205/55 that fit fine also.

Use stock wheels for winter and buy a nice set of rims for summer. Why put money into crappy Steelies that look horrible. I would buy a cheap stock set for winter before I buy steelies.

Doesn't really work if you want the 16 inch wheel and taller sidewall tire.

Doesn't much matter the look during winter, it is more about functionality.

Dont sleep on getting a used set of enkei's from the Facebook marketplace in 16x7 for dirt cheap, not a bad way to spend the money youd pay for steelies, give or take

Winter in NY is not that horrible, plenty of nice days, so it’s nice to have decent wheels. 16 in sparco wheels are a good option cheap and light enough.

I can 100% guarantee you stock forester steelies are cheaper than a set of sparcos. Function over form for winter setups.

I get it but after years of ownership the difference in wheel cost over the years amounts to little money. But I get it, if money is the main driver. But I would still buy used 16 wheels before I go steelies. 02-04 WRX wheels are cheap, spray paint them graphite or black, this what I did in the past. Now I have nice wheels for winter, just because. Never been a fan of steelies.

Look used as well. I got my 16" speedlines WITH 80% tread quality tires for $450. There are deals out there.

That’s true I have seen some deals on the old school wheels like the speed lines. Always liked them, but the gold just does not look good with my silver cars.
