Regardless of what you are riding/driving/flying you need to realize the only person looking out for you is you.
My very favorite bikerism is "It is safer to speed and be well ahead of traffic". This makes no sense unless it is just you and two more cars on the road. Otherwise speeding just gets you into the next bunch of traffic.

That's true, but the idea behind it is to get ahead at the start so you're in front of moving traffic, and just maintain that gap (without speeding) until you hit the stopped traffic in front (on regular streets). Then you go through that slowly until you're at the stop light, and repeat.

I just tried to minimize my time spent among moving traffic when I was riding and find the more 'open' spots.

If you are not actively managing your path you are passive. Being passive will get you dead.

Toyota needs at least a dozen more specials. Maybe at some point they will figure out that a better powertrain, suspension and brakes will be popular.

As a former Toyota sales manager, I can tell you right now that those things you listed are only a very, very small percentage of what people who are interested in a Toyota are looking for.

Yep. I think it was in the first GumBall Rally movie, an Italian race driver gets in the car, rips off the rear view mirror and says, "Whatsa behind me, it is not important."

After 50 years of riding bikes, I still believe limiting the relevant threat axes can be helpful. IMHO it applies to invisible cars as well.

There's Subaru and Toyota SUVs in our area in that color and they look...great, surprisingly, although my wife thought it was too dull. Replace the interior red with grey, too, and we might be on to something.
