True, it can be that depending on how you configure it.

When our Forester got too small and the car top carrier became almost a permanent fixture, we considered several options. Having driven coast to coast in the dead of winter in the Forester, I set that as the benchmark. I have driven some AWD cars that are not quite full time and when things get slippery, the AWD seems more reactive than proactive. AWD was not the only consideration, but it was heavenly weighted compared to other preferences. The Symetrical AWD won out as it best suits our driving situation. We got an 8 passenger Ascent Limited rather than my first choice the 7 passenger Touring in deference to our Labrador Retriever. The only complaint is the OEM Falken tires that were not up to the task. They were recently replaced with Michelin Cross Climate 2 all season tires and they seem to come closer to a winter tire than any all season tire that I have driven on. My short list included Mazda, Honda and Toyota with keeping an open mind on Kia and Hyundai. We had a 1989 Mazda MPV 4WD that had a locking center differential. It was the last year for that model. When the MPV had a bazillion miles on it, the 2014 Forester was the only car that could compare in its utility in bad weather at that time. Now, AWD is almost ubiquitous among all car companies.

It’s off-topic, but I’m currently looking at CC2 to replace stock tires on Highlander & interested in hearing more feedback on that tires. Goodyear Eagle Touring (stock tires) is a great tires on dry, but snow/ice road, it sucks.

This is a good video that focuses on the space on the inside of the Suburban (Tahoe would be the same until you get to the behind the 3rd seat storage). A lot of Raiti's complaints are because he's reviewing the lowest trim model (for example the next trim up has remote buttons for the seat release).
My personal favorite feature is the Planter's Nut Tray in the central console. Also, a little odd to compare it to the Yukon which is basically the same vehicle.
