Is there anyone on this forum who is thinking "I really wanted a BRZ, but due to the vast price difference, I had to settle for an FRS"?

I was torn between the BRZ just for its World Rally Blue paint or the FR-S for its front bumper (which I like more than the BRZ's). All the other differences mean waaay less than those 2 big ticket items (to me). I even think of swapping my Subaru badges to matte black Scion badges just to spite brand mentality plus the Scion badge looks more stylized aesthetically. In the end I figured it's easier to change badges and swap out the front bumper of a BRZ to an FR-S compared to repainting an FR-S to WRB.

/agree - WRB is by far my favorite color on these cars, I wish it came with FR-S's too.

I doubt it (maybe a few), but for me it was availability. I really wanted a BRZ but there was such a long wait time, I thought I would have to get the FR-S. Which would not have been a bad thing, obviously...just not what I wanted as a first choice (I look at it more akin to color preference than anything else).

Luckily, for me and my preference, I was able to get the BRZ I wanted, while I had an FR-S on order.

Only thing a BRZ has over a FR-S, IMO, is the headlights. I considered a BRZ at first, but SoCal dealership wanted to F me in the arse (Listed mark-up of $3000-$5000) so I decided against one. If anything, I'll pick up a set of BRZ lights and do some wire work myself.

I only bought the BRZ because I'm a die hard Subaru guy. I know the cars are basically the same, but if Subaru didn't offer the BRZ, I'd be summer driving a Camaro ZL1.(Chevy muscle is my first love having grown up in the 60's/70's) Hey, everybody's got choices.

It's quite funny. They are the same car. Just different options you pay more for. I honestly took the car I was able to get my hands on first. My argento came in, and I only had to wait a couple days for the truck to drop off at the dealership instead of months.

For me, the FR-S translated into cheaper (in smarter financial kind of way), availability, I didn't want to wait (I had too much fun on my test drive), and I like the nose on the FR-S better (not saying the BRZ has an ugly nose (just preference)).

I was considering used M3 or S4 before I bought my BRZ. But even before that I was waiting few years hoping that Fiat will bring Alfa Romeo to US market, but unfortunately it didn't happen.
