It has an RCA connection for the rear video camera and will plaster a "be aware of your surroundings message" on whatever you pipe into it.

The Fujitsu Ten has two video inputs. One for the reverse camera which functions as you described but it has another one for AUX in that will work without the guide markers.

News to me...good news. What dongle is needed to access this aux in and how do we select it in the gui?

You need a similar RCA connector to two-pin connector that then goes into the 28-pin harness (pins 13 and 14). Pins 25-28 are used for Audio I believe.

Not sure on selecting the input, but I suspect that it becomes an option once a signal is connected, sort of how USB becomes available when you plug in a USB thumb drive.

Also, this signal is subject to the vehicle speed inhibitor. I have mine disabled by grounding the e-brake feed and putting in a switch on the VSS line, but I understand that some newer versions of the HU firmware will go one further and use GPS signal to determine the vehicle in motion and cut out the video signal in that case.

It should be noted that it's a composite video input. RCA is typically used to carry composite video, but there's no RCA input on the HU itself, you need to fabricate a RCA female connector that inserts into the pins in the 16-pin (for backup camera) or the 28-pin (for aux) connectors on the HU.

Find an old computer case, and chop off the wires that go from the power/reset switches, speaker, and LEDs to the motherboard. Take the pins out, and they can be inserted into the factory connectors.

Do you know if there is a write for do it yourself any where on this forum?

Ok, I decided to give this a try. I just ordered a $30 hdmi to composite device. It is usb powered. It comes with a usb cable.

I also ordered a mini hdmi to hdmi cable because my Atrix HD has an hdmi mini output. Other phones would need a usb to hdmi and you'd have to check compatibility.

Now I have to make a wire the is female rca to the two pins on the back of the HU. I think for starters I'll just set it up using insulated female spade connectors.

I have a bunch of spsd switches. So, I don't need those. I have RCA cables somewhere as well that I can hack up.

I got all the parts (after screwing up and buying the wrong hdmi adapter).

I'll test them out soon. Maybe even tonight. Then when I have it all up and running I'll make a DIY.

Also, I've been working on writing a Tasker plugin so you can autostart Torque when you plug in the hdmi cable. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2439287

Any android devs want to help me out?

Did some tinkering tonight. Unfortunately you can't seem to get rid of the parking guidelines. I even tried adjusting them so they were off screen, but that didn't work. In the "line diag" hidden menu you can select a couple of presets for 4 door or 5 door or SUV, but you can't select the other buttons (I guess they are disabled).

The good news is that the input works just fine.

Does someone have the pinout for the aux in (28 pin) connector?
